General Rules for Department 6

  1. Entry form must be in Superintendents hands by July 1.
  2. Entry fee is $4.00 per animal – payment due with entry.
  3. All late entries will be charged $20.00 per animal, pending pen availability.
  4. Animals must be entered between 12 – 6 PM on Sunday and remain on the fairgrounds until 8:30 PM on Saturday.
  5. Fair may withhold premiums if you fail to comply with any of the rules and/or regulations stated in this premium book.

Sections 1-6 – Dairy Goat

1 – Lamancha
2 – Saanen
3 – Toggenburg
4 – All Other Purebred
5 – Recorded Grade
6 – Oberhasli

Dairy Goat Rules and Regulations

  1. Judging will take place on Monday.  Starting at 10:00 Am
  2. All substitutions must be within the same breed, and must be approved by the Superintendent prior to check-in.
  3. AGDA show rules shall govern. Only American Dairy Goat Association, American Goat Society and Canadian Goat Society registered, recorded, or applied for animals may be shown in official AGDA.  The Jr. & Sr. shows are not separately sanctioned.
  4. All other general fair rules & health requirements apply.
  5. The order of the show is not subject to change.

Section 7 – Market Goats

Market Goat Rules & Regulations

  1. Weigh – in on Sunday starting at 7:30 PM.
  2. Judging will take place on Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
  3. Class weight limits will be seat at weigh -in.
  4. All MALE Market Goats must be castrated.
  5. All substitutions must be approved by the Superintendent prior to check – in.
  6. All other general rules & health regulations apply.
  7. *Over fitting of breeding and market animals will be discriminated against. Any artificial means used to change the form or shape of an animal will disqualify it from competition.
