General Rules for Department 4

  1. Entry form must be in Superintendents hands by July 1.
  2. Entry fee is $4.00 per animal – payment due with entry.
  3. All late entries will be charged $20.00 per animal, pending pen availability.
  4. Animals must be entered between 12 – 6 PM on Sunday and remain on the fairgrounds until 8:30 PM on Saturday.
  5. Any animal of un-thrifty nature, unsuitable condition, or which cannot be satisfactorily handled under show conditions must be removed from the fairgrounds.
  6. Entries may be limited depending on availability of pens.
  7. Fair may withhold premiums if you fail to comply with any of the rules and/or regulations stated in this premium book.
  8. Livestock show : Market animals will be shown Tuesday starting at 3:00 PM.
    Livestock show: Breeding animals will be shown Wednesday starting at 10:00 AM
  9. *Over fitting of breeding and market animals will be discriminated against. Any artificial means used to change the form or shape of an animal will disqualify it from competition.

2 – Southdown

3 – Dorset
4 – AOB Purebred Wool Breeds

Breeding Sheep Rules and Regulations

  1. All substitutions must be made within the same breed, and must be approved by the Superintendent prior to check-in.
  2. All sheep (excluding market lambs) must be registered in the flock books of their respective breeds and bear the American Ear Tags of their association.
  3. Registration papers need to be in exhibitor’s name. Registration papers will be required during check in.
  4. All other general fair rules & health requirements apply.
