Section 1 – Youth Eggs

Rules and Regulations

  1. Eggs will be judged on uniformity of size, color, and shape, and on shell texture and condition.
  2. Entries will be disqualified for any of the following defects:
    1. Total weight less than 22 ounces per dozen (except Bantam)
    2. Signs of incubation or germ development.
    3. Inedible eggs.

Section 2 – Youth Rabbits

Show day – Tuesday 7:00pm in the rabbit area of the Carl Sandel Barn

Rules and Regulations

  1. Entry form must be in superintendents hands by July 1st.
  2. All late entries will be charged $20. Per animal, pending availability.
  3. Rabbit will be screened on arrival for health and show condition.
  4. No rabbit showing signs of contagious or infectious disease will be admitted to the show.
  5. Bedding, food and water will be provided.
  6. Two entries per exhibitor.
  7. Animals must enter between 12 PM and 6 PM on Monday and remain until 8:30 PM Saturday.
  8. Fair may withhold premiums if you fail to comply with any of the rules and regulations stated in this premium book.
  9. Dishes and Crocks must be provided by the exhibitor.
  10. All Substitutions must be approved by Superintendent prior to check in.
  11. All other general fair rules & health requirements apply.

Section 3 – Youth Vegetables

Best of show ribbon to best vegetable exhibit.

Rules and Regulations

  1. All entries must be grown by the exhibitor since the last fair – little exhibitors may receive some advice or help if necessary.
  2. Use the following guidelines when selecting vegetable specimens for exhibit:
    1. Specimens should be of equal size, color and maturity.
    2. Specimens should be free from dirt, disease, and damage.
    3. Specimens should be medium in size.  Biggest isn’t always best.
    4. Stems should be removed from tomatoes.  Leaves should be removed from beets, carrots and similar vegetables leaving 2” stems.
    5. Potatoes should not be washed but should be wiped gently with a soft cloth or brushed gently with soft brush.
  3. Be certain you exhibit the exact number of specimens required.
  4. Please list the variety of Heirloom Tomatoes on the Exhibitor’s Entry Form.

Rules and Regulations

  1. All exhibits in this division must be the work of the Exhibitor.
  2. Each article must have been made since last year’s fair.
  3. Must be freehand.  No paint-by-numbers or preprinted drawings will be judged.
  4. All exhibitors must complete an Entry Sheet and obtain an Exhibitors number.  Only one entry per class.
  5. Entry numbers should be attached to back with a paper clip.
  6. Exhibits must be ready to hang.

Section 9 – Junior Food Exhibits

Open to youth 8 – 19 years of age.
Best of Show Ribbon for best overall youth craft exhibit
After judging one piece of cake or pie will be left on exhibit.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Canned foods judged on quality, general appearance.
  2. Use standard mason-type clear quart/pint glass jars for preserving and exhibiting fruits, vegetables and meats.
  3. Use two-piece self-sealing lids (flat discs and metal screw bands) for sealing all jars of food.  Baked goods must be covered with a clear wrap or in a clear bag.
  4. Metal screw bands may be loosely applied while transporting jars to and from fair to prevent damage.  Screw bands must be removed from jars before exhibiting entries.
  5. All food not in standard jars and not sealed with self-sealing lids will be disqualified by the judge.
  6. Jams, Jellies and Preserves should be in ½ pint standard jelly jars.
  7. NO Bread made in a Bread Machine will be accepted.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Entry must consist of 2 decorated Gingerbread men.
  2. Gingerbread men must be at least 4” high and not over 10” high.
  3. All decorations must be edible.
